Description:
The United States and Japan are among the world’s leading life sciences markets, but startups seeking to enter each other’s ecosystems must navigate significant differences in fundraising, regulatory approval, clinical development, pricing, reimbursement, and market access.
This session will bring together investors, legal and regulatory experts, and market access specialists from Japan and the United States to discuss how life sciences startups can develop integrated cross-border strategies. The panel will explore how regulatory and clinical considerations affect fundraising and investment decisions, the differences between the U.S. and Japanese healthcare and market structures, and the timing, preparation, and partnerships required for successful market entry.
Held one week before BioJapan 2026 in Yokohama, the session will also promote information exchange, networking, investment, and business collaboration between the U.S. and Japanese life sciences ecosystems.

Are our current leadership models (over)due for an upgrade...?
We are facing a polycrisis – and leading in a time of massive AI & digital transformation, the escalating climate crisis, geopolitical disruption, and generational shifts in values requires a paradigm shift in leadership approach. We need contextually-intelligent, self-aware leaders who understand their own and their organisation’s impact relationship with people, planet and tech.
This panel brings together diverse speakers from different organisations, backgrounds and generations to explore how leadership thinking and behaviours are evolving – and what needs to evolve faster to enable our people and businesses to thrive.
